Instructor position in Japanese Culture at the University of San Francisco
The University of San Francisco seeks an instructor for a four-unit course, Japanese Culture (JAPN 350), to be offered in Spring 2022 (Jan 25-May 12) on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 16:35-18:20. It is a face-to-face (not online) course. Course coverage is flexible but should include topics relevant to traditional cultural forms (e.g., noh, kabuki and other traditional performing arts as well as visual arts like paintings, ceramics, gardens, architecture, etc.) and the societal and historical conditions from which they arose. The pay is approximately $8000. An M.A. degree in a relevant field is required (Ph.D. or ABD preferred).
