Announcing 2025 Way of Tea Program
Dear Educator,
The Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco is proud to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 Way of Tea Program!
This program seeks to introduce classes of Northern California students to Japanese culture and language through the Japanese Way of Tea.
This year, we are offering 6 sessions for classes of elementary through college level students to be held in San Francisco. Each of these 2-hour lessons will be led by Urasenke Foundation San Francisco and will consist of an introduction to Japanese tea and a hands-on portion in which students will participate in an actual tea gathering in a tea room.
This free program is a fantastic opportunity for Japanese language classes, social studies classes, and cultural clubs. No Japanese language experience necessary.
This program is intended for classes of students, and not for individuals.
Group sizes are limited to a maximum of 25 students; additional chaperones and adults may join from an adjoining room.
Application and selection required to participate; Application does not guarantee participation.
Schools/Organizations are responsible for their own transportation to and from the venue.
