2024 JETAANC Scholarship Information

On behalf of the JET Program Alumni Association of Northern California & Nevada (JETAANC), I’m excited to announce that our scholarship application is now open! We have awarded a variable amount scholarship to selected students annually since 2002. This year’s award amount will be up to $2,500.

The scholarship is open to graduating seniors attending high school in northern California or Nevada who are accepted into a 2- or 4-year program at an accredited college or university for the 2024 Fall Term. We select recipients based on their demonstrated interest in Japan, academic accomplishments and interests, volunteer and/or leadership experience at school or in their local community, and recommendations from teachers, coaches, employers, or others who can speak to their character. A demonstrated financial need may also be taken into consideration. Additional information about the scholarship and application process can be found at:

Thanks to a vibrant network of educators and community leaders like you, who inspire young people to actively engage in building greater cultural understanding and community service, we have continued to receive highly qualified applicants each year. Last year, Gabe Howard of Del Norte High School (DNHS) in Crescent City was awarded $2,500 to support his enrollment at the University of California, Davis, to major in Psychology with a minor in Japanese. Our organization would like to thank you for your support in sharing this scholarship opportunity with your community. This program is only successful because of your involvement.
