Teaching Japanese Culture online for Fall 2023
This is an emergency hire. We are looking for a colleague in good standing, PhD preferred, but Masters considered, to offer Japanese culture classes. There are three classes that will be taught online, synchronously, or asynchronously, so no need to come and teach in person.
One class has two sections and is a repeat syllabus. The other class is on Japanese cinema and/or visual culture. I am happy to share the syllabus of the former instructor, but feel free to design your own.
Instructor be employable in the US, green card, or a US citizen. We cannot support visa for adjuncts/part time teaching. This will be an adjunct position, with a total of 9 units. Teaching might be repeated in the Spring of 24.
There is a strong likelihood that we will post an ad for a term faculty in Japanese in the summer of 24 to begin working Fall 24. In that case, we would support a visa for instructional term faculty hire.
